Cai has a background in Molecular Bioengineering from Imperial College London. During his time at university, he led a 9-month project to design a paper-based microfluidic device for detecting antibiotic-resistant bacteria in low-resource areas. He has also spent 4 weeks working for TReND in Africa, a charity that supports the development of academic research institutions throughout Africa.
His motivation to create a sustainable future using biotechnology led him to co-found Multus Media to shorten routes to market and lower entry barriers in the cultivated meat industry.
Reka has a background in Biological Sciences specialising in Synthetic Biology from Imperial College London. She has a background in regenerative medicine working on synthetic cardiac tissue as a research assistant in Prof Sian Harding’s group, and in synthetic biology improving genetic stability of cyanobacteria in Dr Patrik Jones’s group. She gained wide ranging experiences around operations from over 2.5 years as Head of European Operations at Circling Europe.
Being dedicated to making a positive impact in the world motivated her to unlock the cultivated meat industry through targeting the critical bottleneck of growth media through Multus Media.
Kevin is a biochemist and an engineer with extensive experience in computer science, automation and biomedical regulations. He was trained as a biomedical engineer (Dipl.-HTL-Ing.) in Austria, during which he was also very active in a wide spectrum of domains such as data science, robotics and cyber defence.
With his interest in advancements of synthetic biology, he came to UK in 2018 to study Biochemistry at Imperial College London, while working for Dr. Reiko Tanaka’s group at Biological Control Systems Lab. His research focuses on extracting dynamical insights from high dimensional biological data, using various techniques such as deep learning, data-driven modelling and model controls.
Anirvan brings years of academic expertise from bioengineering to accelerate our research. Building on his knowledge in cell biology and biophysics, he is now leveraging his research skills to improve the sustainability and reduce the environmental footprint of the world’s food supply.
George has over 10 years of industrial and academic experience from the biotechnology and synthetic biology sectors. He believes that we at Multus are working in a key area of research that is not only exciting but also essential in enabling the commercialisation of cultivated meat; a technology that is vital if we are to reach net-zero GHG emissions by 2050.
